3. Does my tan protect me sufficiently from the sun?
|
For proper protection against the rays from the sun, a tan in itself is not sufficient. The skin safeguards itself by thickening. The skin
is best protected when it is both tanned and thickened. Excessive thickening of the epidermis may occur after an extremely intensive sunbath
when the skin starts to peel. In most cases, peeled skin leads to patchy tanning.
